When Kyle lost his mother Peggy, he was only 12 years old. But he made a vow - that from that day forward, he would fight to ensure that one day no child would have to lose a parent to breast cancer. That year, Kyle formed his first team to benefit the Wabash Valley Race for the Cure, in honor of his mom Peggy Vannoni and his aunt Judy Divine, who he also lost to breast cancer. And every year since for the last 29 years, Kyle has captained his own team - raising upwards of $350,000, he’s become one of the most prominent advocates for those in his community fighting breast cancer. But in 2017, set his sights even higher and created his own event to raise more funds and awareness for the cause. The Tour de Komen - now in it’s 9th year running - has raised over $350,000 to benefit Susan G. Komen and the Wabash Valley Race for the Cure, who honored him with the “Volunteer of the Year” award.
